ORACLE Is Stronger Than BATGIRL Will Ever Be. My op/ed is now up at @Newsarama.
as someone who is disabled, though loathe to admit it, and will likely trip you with my cane if you say it, this article hit home a little more than i expected.
devolving barbara gordon from her current role of info guardian and general bad ass in a wheelchair is a colossal mistake.
while i have nowhere near the tie to this character as the author of this piece, i totally and whole heartedly understand and agree with everyone of her salient points. the world needs positive interpretations of those less able. the world needs to understand the struggle doing simple things many must overcome, everyday. the world needs characters like oracle for more than a devolved batgirl.

I have to agree with this fully. Smart, confident, sexy and can still kick most peoples asses while in a wheel chair.
